Apple has confirmed that it will extend its premium fitness and wellness subscription service, Apple Fitness+, to 28 new markets beginning December 15, 2025. This marks the largest international roll-out since the platform first launched, significantly widening its global reach. Among the new regions gaining access are Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and many others. Meanwhile, availability in Japan is slated to follow in early 2026.
With this expansion, Apple Fitness+ will be accessible in a total of 49 countries and regions.
What the Expansion Brings
Diverse, Localized Access
To better serve a global and multilingual audience, Apple is introducing digitally dubbed workouts and meditation sessions. Initially, these will be available in Spanish and German with Japanese dubbing arriving alongside the service’s rollout in Japan early next year. These dubbed sessions are generated using synthetic voice technology, closely based on the original trainers’ voices, and Apple plans to add new dubbed content weekly.
During playback, users will have the option to switch audio languages via the app’s audio controller, or set a default language so the app automatically plays the dubbed version when available. This step moves beyond the subtitled-only approach that had characterized most non-English markets in the past.
Expanded Music & Motivation Options
In tandem with the expansion, Apple Fitness+ is introducing a new music genre K-Pop that users can select for any workout type. This addition joins existing genres like Upbeat Anthems, Latest Hits, Hip-Hop/R&B, and Latin Grooves. The new genre is meant to refresh and diversify the workout experience, perhaps appealing more strongly to younger or global audiences drawn to contemporary pop music.
What Users Can Expect from Fitness+
Subscribers will continue to have access to the full breadth of Apple Fitness+’s offerings. The platform supports 12 different workout and wellness categories, including Strength training, Yoga, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing, and Meditation. Sessions range from 5 to 45 minutes, making them adaptable for both busy schedules and more extended workout routines. Users can stream workouts on iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.
For those using a compatible Apple Watch or the latest earbuds like AirPods Pro 3, the experience is enhanced with real-time personal metrics displayed on-screen including heart rate, calories burned, and progress on daily activity rings. For certain workout types such as HIIT, Cycling, Kickboxing, Treadmill or Rowing, the “Burn Bar” feature lets users see how their effort compares (anonymously) with others who have completed the same workout.
To help users stay on track, Apple Fitness+ offers Custom Plans that generate a personalized schedule based on each individual’s workout preferences: preferred activities, favorite trainers, music choices, session lengths, and the user’s usual availability. Additional features include curated “Collections” aimed at specific goals or moods such as stress relief or endurance building and “Artist Spotlight” playlists that focus on workouts set to the music of major global artists. Long-form audio experiences like “Time to Walk” or “Time to Run” are also part of the offering, designed to encourage movement beyond the standard workout sessions.
Subscription and Compatibility
Apple Fitness+ remains a subscription-based service, typically priced at a monthly or annual rate with the option to share access with up to five family members.
To use Fitness+, a user needs at least an iPhone (iPhone 8 or later with updated iOS); sleep of course device compatibility ensures access on iPad or Apple TV as well. Users with an Apple Watch (Series 3 or later, running the requisite watchOS version) get the most immersive experience with real-time metrics.
Importantly, Apple is offering a three-month free trial to customers who purchase a new compatible Apple device such as a recent iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2 either directly from Apple or from an authorized reseller. This offer aims to encourage new users to try the full functionality of Fitness+ without immediately committing.
Significance for Global Users and Markets
This expansion is a major milestone for Apple Fitness+. The move not only brings Apple’s ecosystem of studio-style workouts and wellness content to a much wider set of international users, but also signals a shift toward greater localization and accessibility with dubbed content and region-specific rollout. For markets like India, Singapore, and Taiwan (among others), this could mark the first time many users can access Fitness+ natively, potentially opening doors for a surge in demand and adoption, especially among iPhone users already embedded in Apple’s hardware ecosystem.
The addition of K-Pop music and multilingual dubbing suggests Apple understands the importance of cultural relevance and accessibility in driving engagement. By tailoring content for non-English-speaking regions, Apple is lowering language barriers that may have discouraged some users before.
For existing users in launched markets and prospects in the newly added regions alike, the expansion makes Fitness+ more inclusive and user-friendly whether someone is a seasoned fitness enthusiast or new to workouts, wants quick guided sessions or structured training plans, or simply prefers workouts in a native language with preferred music styles.
Overall, this expansion positions Apple Fitness+ as a serious global player in digital fitness one that aims to combine high-quality on-demand workouts, real-time tracking, flexible scheduling, and culturally relevant content under one subscription umbrella.
